Vasi learned to cook and bake at a very young age in her grandmother' kitchen in Greece. Her mother's talent fostered and encouraged this early interest. At age twelve, Vasi cooked and hosted her first dinner party. After graduating from high school, her love of cooking led her to Europe where she studied the culinary arts. There she learned to cook the finest cuisine of each country.
Upon returning to Los Angeles she cooked for many celebrities from the film industry to famous health retreats. A thriving catering business was borne out of this success. Vasi succumbed to the Island's allure, and moved to Maui in 1992, where she traveled and worked with the Hawaii Regional Cuisine Chefs developing her talent in this unique cuisine. Her passion for creative cooking has led to her own Maui-based catering business - Gourmet Catering & Tropical Desserts. Using only the finest and freshest ingredients, Vasi prepares menus ranging from Spa to gourmet cuisine.
